HOW ARE MY EXTENSIONS REMOVED?
-
DIGITAL ULTRASONIC COLD FUSION
Our prebonded ultrasonic cold fusion extensions are removed with a specialist hair extension remover gun which mechanically squeezes the bond attachment and deposits a specialist remover solution directly onto the bond to instantly degrade it. This process allows the bond to be gently released and with a light pull it simply slides down the hair shaft. This innovative tool dramatically reduces the time for removals down by 50% making the process much more pleasant and comfortable for you. No more 4+ hour removal appointments needed! The remover solution is alcohol based. NO Acetone is required in removal of Italian Keratin bonds.
-
TAPE EXTENSIONS
Our Tape extensions are removed with even greater ease and speed. An alcohol based solution spray is used on the attachment area and the tapes are gently rubbed together to release them.

HOW LONG CAN I WEAR MY EXTENSIONS BEFORE THEY HAVE TO BE REMOVED?
-
DIGITAL ULTRASONIC COLD FUSION
Your Russian Remy & Indian Remy prebonded extensions fitted with digital ultrasonic cold fusion are designed for NO MORE than 3 months of continuous wear. Based on your individual hair needs we may advise you to have your extensions removed before this timeframe (such as but not exclusive to) if you have fine hair or we deem it appropriate to your unique hair needs. We will assess your hair during your free monthly checkup appointments and advise you on the maximum wear time before you should have them removed. This is to ensure your natural hair stays as healthy as possible. Failure to act on our advice may lead to damage to your natural hair and we accept NO responsibility for the health of your natural hair if you fail to attend your free monthly checkup appointments OR fail to have your extensions removed at the recommended time we state during your checkups.
Never be tempted to extend your wear time past this marker. Hair has a typical growth, rest and shedding phase cycle. Every day the average person's head has 100 hairs which are currently in the shedding phase. Shedding is a completely natural process that allows new hair to replace the old, however, it has huge significance on the safe lifespan of your hair extensions. When your bonds are applied they are attached to an equal ratio section of your natural hair. An equal ratio of natural hair section to bond size means there is a sufficient amount of your natural hair to support the added weight of the extension so your hair isn't overtaxed with too much weight. When you first have your extensions applied the ratio is equal - 50% natural hair to 50% of extension strand. Over the course of time as you continually wear your hair extensions, you are shedding on average 100 hairs daily from all over your scalp. As a result, at the end of the recommended maximum 3 month period there will no longer be an equal ratio of natural hair supporting the bond. You are advised to have your extensions removed (when advised) and reapplied to ensure there is always an adequate amount of your natural hair to support the weight of your extensions. Leaving extensions for longer than the recommended wear time also raises the risks of matting at the root section supporting your extensions as your natural hair starts to grow longer. Although individual hair growth rates will vary, the average person's scalp hair growth rate is 0.5 inches per month. After the maximum 3 months of continuous wear your hair has grown an extra 1.5 inches longer since you had your extensions applied and as a result, as time goes on, your hair will become increasingly difficult to manage and keep free from matting due to the ever increasing section of growth between the natural hair root section and the attachment point of your extensions. Keeping to your advised recommended removal and refit dates will help you get the best experience out of wearing your extensions and help to maintain your natural hair's health.
-
TAPE EXTENSIONS
Your tape extensions are designed to be worn for an average of 6-8 weeks before they are expected to naturally start to release as the adhesive attachment naturally degrades. If they last longer than this time span you should book to have them removed & refitted no longer than the 8 week stage. As you hair naturally sheds at an average rate of 100 hairs per day from the entire scalp area this will affect the amount of hairs supporting the tape attachment area over the course of wearing your extensions. Having your extensions retaped back into the recommended amount of hair to support them will reduce excessive tension on your hair follicles.
WHY DO I NEED A QUALIFIED HAIR EXTENSION PROFESSIONAL TO REMOVE MY EXTENSIONS?
Your extensions should always be removed professionally. This means removed at the correct recommended time point and only by a hair extension technician who is qualified, insured & experienced in the method of extension you are having removed. We recommend this to ensure you do not experience unneccessary damage to your hair. The importance of following the correct removal procedure cannot be emphasised enough. We have never seen any damage done to our client's hair, who have maintained their extensions correctly, when their extensions have been removed by us. What we have seen firsthand, however, is damage to hair (including traction alopecia) as a result of incorrect removal by the hands of others who were inexperienced in correct & safe removal procedures. Please never be tempted to try and save money by skimping on paying for professional removal. Always ensure an extension technique is suitable for your hair type and lifestyle, have been skillfully applied, correctly looked after & maintained, and expertly removed. Many people have neglected the importance of professional removal and have paid for it dearly through damage to their natural hair.
